A Sunny Lakeside Celebration: Hannah & Shane’s Wedding at The Terrace Bay Hotel in Gladstone, MI
On September 28th, 2024, I had the absolute joy of photographing Hannah and Shane’s wedding at the historic Terrace Bay Hotel in Gladstone, Michigan. From start to finish, it was one of those days that simply felt like love—warm, peaceful, and full of personal touches that made it truly unforgettable.
The morning began in one of the gorgeous suites at the Terrace Bay Hotel, where the girls got ready with serene views of the lake just beyond their windows. The atmosphere was calm and joyful—rare for a wedding morning! Everyone was ahead of schedule, so they had the time to truly enjoy each other’s company. Laughter filled the room as hair and makeup were done, coffee was sipped, and anticipation for the day ahead grew.
Before the ceremony, Hannah and Shane shared a sweet and quiet first look. It was a brief but meaningful moment for just the two of them—a pause to soak it all in before the festivities began.
The ceremony took place outdoors with Lake Michigan providing the most picturesque backdrop. Rows of white chairs lined the lawn as close friends and family looked on with tearful smiles. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows in the sunshine, a perfect start to their new chapter.
Following the ceremony, we took time for family and wedding party photos while guests enjoyed cocktail hour nearby. The golden afternoon light made for some truly magical portraits.
As the sun began to set, Hannah and Shane made their grand entrance into the reception with a sweet cake-cutting moment followed by their first dance. Their guests looked on, many wiping away tears as the couple swayed together for the first time as husband and wife.
The evening unfolded with heartfelt speeches that left not a dry eye in the room. The love for this couple ran deep, and every word spoken reflected just how special their bond is.
Later in the night, Hannah slipped into her reception dress, and from there, the celebration truly took off. Mitch from Taylored Events kept the dance floor packed with an incredible playlist that had everyone moving from the first beat to the last.
One of the standout highlights of the evening was the live line painting artist, who completed a beautiful portrait from their ceremony as the reception unfolded. Watching the artwork come to life in real time was nothing short of mesmerizing—and such a unique touch to an already unforgettable day.
Hannah and Shane’s wedding was more than just a celebration—it was a reflection of their love story, surrounded by the people who matter most to them. It was an honor to be part of their day, to witness their joy, and to capture each heartfelt moment as it unfolded.
