Let me help you prepare for all the detail shots!

Your wedding day is a momentous occasion filled with love, joy, and countless memories waiting to be captured. As your wedding photographer, I understand the importance of preserving these special moments, especially the intricate details that make your day uniquely yours. To ensure we capture everything, it's crucial to prepare your wedding day details in advance. In this guide, I'll walk you through the process of gathering and organizing items such as rings, invites, jewelry, shoes, and more, so I can create beautiful and seamless detail photos that represent you as a couple.

Create a designated space:

The getting ready area can quickly become cluttered with the excitement and anticipation of the big day. To streamline the photography process, designate a clear area by natural light, preferably near a window. Natural light enhances the details and creates a soft, elegant atmosphere for your photos.

Gather essential items:

To begin, gather all the essential items you'd like photographed – rings, invitations, jewelry, shoes, perfume, and any other meaningful details. Having these items set aside and ready to go upon my arrival ensures a smooth and efficient process. Below is a list of ideas for your detail box

  • Rings
  • Invitation suite
  • Shoes
  • Jewlery
  • Tie
  • Cuff links
  • Perfume or cologne
  • Dress and/or veil
  • Vow books

Timing is everything:

I will allocate around 45 minutes for details. I always start with details upon my arrival, generally starting with the dress. This timeframe allows for creativity and ensures that each detail receives the attention it deserves, resulting in stunning, high-quality photographs.

Incorporate Florals:

For an extra touch of elegance, consider having florals on-site for the detail shots. Flowers not only add natural beauty but also bring your wedding colors to life in the photos. Including florals in the shots can create a cohesive and visually appealing narrative throughout your wedding album.

After the details are done being photographed, I will move on to candidly capturing the rest of the getting ready process! Coordinate with the person who will be helping you put on your wedding gown. It's advisable that they have their hair and makeup done and are fully dressed before assisting you. This attention to detail ensures a polished and cohesive look in the photos, creating a harmonious visual narrative that reflects the elegance of your wedding day.
